The Northside FFA Horticulture Class is currently having their plant sale.  Order Forms can be obtained by calling the school or calling Mr. Reed.  We hope you come out and get some of our plants.  Check out the Photo Gallery for pictures of our plants in the greenhouse.  


Dally Jo Robinson Competed in the Fort Worth Stockshow and Rodeo Calf Scramble this year.  Dally was one of the lucky one's and caught a calf.  She will now have to raise a heifer and show it at Fort Worth next year.





The Northside Local Livestock Show was a great success.  Thanks to all who helped with the day.  Complete Results are posted under Stock Show Results and New Photos are in the photo gallery.

 
The Northside FFA Sr. Skills team placed 6th at the Area IV contest at Tarelton State.  Congratulations girls for all of your hard work.


The Northside FFA competed in the Wichita District LDE contest on November 9.  Our Sr. Skills team advanced to the Area Contest to be held November 19 at Tarelton State.  Other contest results include:  Spanish Creed 3rd, Jr. Creed 8th, Sr. Creed 6th, Job Interview 4th, Sr. Chapter Conducting 5th, Sr. Creed 5th, Sr. Quiz 5th, Jr. Quiz 5th, Radio Brodcasting 8th, and Public Relations 7th.

Justin Young and Dally Jo Robinson recently competed in the State Fair of Texas with Lamb, Goat and Swine Projects.

                         

 

Cade Freeling, Devin Appleby, and Clayton Baker participated in the State Fair Ag Mech Show with a 18 ft portable cattle feeder built last year by the Northside Ag Mechanics Class.  They received 1st place in the feeder class.



 Texas FFA President Peyton Gilbert along with First Vice President Taylor Shackelford and Area IV Vice President Alyssa Spruill visited our school on September 26.  They visited with 6th - 12th grades about commitment and leadership.  Their presentation was enjoyed by all.



This years Wichita District Greenhand Camp was held September 22, 2011.  Attending were Abby Thomas, Keelie Smith, Kelsie Holcomb, Maria Perez, Cassie Griffin and Ashley King.  Our Greenhands Participated in various Leadership Activities, as well as listened to presentations from our Texas FFA Foundation Director, Aaron Alejandro, and Texas State Vice President Kelli Neuman.  Check out more pictures in the photo gallery.

 

Wichita District Treasurer Dally Robinson and Chapter Officers Lacy Russell and Blaire Wilkinson also helped lead the activities of the 2011 Wichita District Greenhand Camp.  A fun time was had by all.


Former Oklahoma State FFA President Emily Beanland spoke with all K-12 Northside students on Friday September 16.  Ms. Beanland told students to follow their dreams and to set goals along the way to make your dreams come true.




The Northside FFA Officers attened the 83rd Texas State FFA Convention.  This years theme was The Power Within.  Your officers will be setting goals and providing information about what was learned at this year's conference.
